Program description

First Study Steps is a DBA of Clinical Relay LLC. The First Study Steps SMS Program sends two separate message types: account notifications about the clinical trial opportunities and account activity you requested, and recurring marketing messages about clinical trial opportunities, new listings, and related updates. Participation is optional and is not a condition of purchase, access, or use of this website.

Message categories

• Account notifications. Varies based on account activity. Example: First Study Steps: A new study listing matching your interests is now available. View details at firststudysteps.com. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.
• Marketing messages. Generally up to 4 messages per month. Example: First Study Steps: New study-matching tools and opportunities are available this month. See what's new at firststudysteps.com. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.

Categories are never bundled. Consenting to one does not enroll you in the other, and SMS consent is never combined with email marketing or with acceptance of our Terms of Use.

How to opt in

You opt in by checking the box for a specific message type on /subscribe or /studies and providing a valid mobile number. Every box is unchecked by default, and providing a phone number alone is never treated as consent. We record the number, the category, the timestamp, the source page, the disclosure version, the user agent, and, where available, the IP address.

Message frequency

Account notification messages vary based on the study opportunities you request, up to approximately 4 messages per month. Marketing messages are approximately 2 to 4 messages per month.

Message and data rates

Msg & data rates may apply. Message and data charges are set by your mobile carrier and are your responsibility. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

STOP

Reply STOP to any message to cancel that First Study Steps SMS program. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further texts for that program unless you opt in again.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, live in the United States, and be the account holder or an authorized user of the mobile number you provide.

Privacy

Information collected through the SMS program is handled under our Privacy Policy.

Mobile opt-in data

Mobile opt-in data, SMS consent, and phone numbers collected for SMS purposes will not be sold, shared, rented, released, or transferred to third parties for marketing, lead generation, or promotional purposes.

We may update these SMS Terms. The current version is always posted on this page and applies to messages sent after it is posted.
